The Grand Canyon
Grand Canyon National Park is on a lot of bucket lists for good reason. As far as natural wonders go, it’s up there with the likes of Mt. Everest and the Great Barrier Reef. If you’ve yet to visit this treasure, this winter is the time to do it.
Formed over millions of years by the Colorado River eroding through rock layers, the Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and over a mile deep in certain areas.
Winter is a slow season for the park, which means that those who do visit can enjoy relative solitude while they take in the sights. The park offers visitors hiking, nature viewing, and, of course, camping. Bringing your RV to the Grand Canyon is one of the best ways to visit the park and get the full experience of its beauty.
Though it can still get pretty chilly at the Grand Canyon during the winter, the scenery is worth the few extra layers you may need to put on.
Santa Fe
The capital of New Mexico, Santa Fe was founded in 1610, making it both the oldest city in the state and the oldest capital in the country. The city has a unique appearance due to its unified construction code, which stipulates that all buildings must conform to the “Spanish Pueblo Revival” look. This look was based off of the Palace of the Governors, which is as old as the city itself and was used as the seat of government for centuries.
Santa Fe boasts a fantastic historic downtown, which harkens back to Spanish colonial days. Visitors can also enjoy numerous museums and art galleries, while foodies will love trying New Mexican cuisine. Try out the RV lifestyle in Santa Fe and enjoy everything the city has to offer.
Tucson
For those looking for warm weather, Tucson has you covered with average highs in the mid 60s even in the coldest months.
That’s not all Tucson has to offer though. With a long list of museums, historic locales, performing arts centers, music venues, and nearby natural parks, Tucson will keep you busy no matter how long you’re in town.
Located in the Sonoran Desert, you can visit the famous Saguaro National Park while you’re in Tucson, which boasts the iconic saguaro cacti and is just 13 miles west of the city center.
